MEET YOUR MILAN FASHION PHOTOGRAPHER
I’m Sydney Duncan, a Milan-based photographer specializing in fashion photography and editorial-style Branding Photography Studio Milan across Italy.
I work with international clients who value imagery that feels intentional, effortless, and high end. My goal is to create photographs that don’t just document the moment — they hold the texture and feeling of it.
Today we're dipping our toes into the iconic Milan street style fashion scene.
what is street style?
The term street style fashion seems self explanatory enough. Quite literally, it is fashion taken to the streets, a genere born out of individualism, creating space for fashion enthusiasts to experiment and play, but most importantly, to look cool while doing it.
Street style fashion is incredibly popular in urban hubs - think Tokyo, New York, and yes, Milan.
When it comes to Milan Fashion week Photos specifically, "street style photography" specifically refers to what takes place outside of those big exclusive Fashion Week runway shows. In this way, I am a huge proponent of street style. As pretentious as fashion can be, street style is inclusive. You don't need to be a celebrity or industry exec to get an invite (though sometimes you do need to play detective to find the location of the shows... that's all part of the fun!). Enthusiasts, designers, and photographers alike take the streets to create their own magazine worthy fashion moments.
It's essentially one big free for all photoshoot.

Diesel Street Style
This particular Diesel street style continues to be one of my favorites. The sun was hot, the vibes were right, and the looks were serving. Our gorgeous Parisian Cowboy, photographed above, was a particular attention grabber. He killed. Literally star of the show, hate to break it to you Diesel.
That's the power of street style... no need to invest thousands upon thousands to make a statement (to be real with you I have no idea how much Abou invested in his outfit, but you get the sentiment) just show up and show out.

What to wear for street style
Again, this is the fun part.
The looks I saw at Milan Street Style gatherings were a total collage. Everything from designer to DIY head to toe. Kimonos, cowboy hats, cat whiskers. It's a free for all.
There is a caveat though, one that's hard to put to words. Maybe the best way I can put it is that there is a fine balance between avant garde and trying too hard. Looks can be loud and totally wild (see the girl with tiny teddy bears taped to her jumper a few paragraphs below) and WORK, but they can't be over worked. But hell, it's fashion. One man's over-worked is another man's treasure.

Details are everything when it comes to street fashion looks and street Fashion Editorial Photography.
Take Anna Klutz and her Dior earrings. Total moment.
Independent Fashion
One eye catching look outside of the Gucci show came from Vasilina (@vasilina_kovalchukk), founder of Ukrainian clothing brand Eternal (@eternal.conceptstore).
Her look was loud, but not totally un-casual. Her cap was a particularly bold touch, once that in my opinion really took the look to the next level.
I'm not encouraging smoking... but these thin cigarets were pretty damn sexy.
Prada street style
The Prada runway show took place at Milan's own Fondazione Prada. The looks outside of the venue were elevated, sophisticated, and looked very chic with the distinct architectural design of Fondazione Prada in the background.
Photographed here is Russian fashion influencer Марина Филатова (@marinafilatovaaa). Her looks were consistently bomb.

Back to that teddy bear jumper I mentioned earlier.
It's outrageous, but it works!

As a fashion photographer, I love some good movement capture. Just the right amount of blur really speaks to the essence of Milan fashion week, which is, let me tell you, a week of non stop movement.
This structured blue dress was another favorite look from the week for sure. And look at those legs! Go off girl!
Milan street style events are not the time to be shy.
Model, photographer, or bystander, you're there, you've essentially consented to being photographed (don't quote me on that legally).
Milan Street style in a nutshell
Milan street style fashion is where personality, movement, and individuality collide in the most electric way. It’s unscripted, expressive, and endlessly photogenic. It's a living runway that spills out onto the sidewalks during Milan Fashion Week. As a Milan fashion photographer, this is where I feel most at home: reading the light, anticipating the motion, and capturing those split-second editorial moments that feel straight out of a magazine spread.
If you’re looking for a Milan fashion photographer to document your brand, your presence, or your event during Milan Fashion Week, from runway to Milan street style fashion and everything in between, then I'm your gal.
Let’s create something iconic.
