Where are the best lake como locations for your maternity photos?
Private Boat Maternity Shoot:
If you're after luxury, romance, and that magazine editorial finish, I can't recommend a private boat pregnancy photoshoot enough! Private boat photoshoots on Lake Como are a popular choice among my clients for a number of reasons. One reason that stands out the most, it's the absolute best combination of privacy and killer views -- you're right there, smack dab in the middle of the lake, completely surrounded by mountains, villas, and colorful Italian townscapes, and all with no tourists up in your business (with perhaps the exception of a curious passing boat or two).
Italian Street style Maternity Photoshoot:
For babymoon photos that really tell a story, shooting around one of Lake Como's stunning towns is the perfect choice. Between colorful alleyways, street side cafes, and we of course can't forget that lake view, maternity photo sessions shot candidly as you dance across those classic Italian cobblestone streets make for stunning cinematic mementos of your babymoon in Italy. Just ask your photographer to recommend the best spots ;)
Hotel Maternity Session:
While the option may seem understated, some of my favorite photography sessions, maternity and otherwise, were shot inside of the gorgeous hotels lining Lake Como! Immaculately decorated, balconies with lake views, and that intimate "at home" feeling... if your home happened to be along one of Italy's most breathtaking lakes. Furthermore, you've already paid for it... why not make the most of it?
How to pose for your maternity photos
When it comes to posing, as your resident maternity photographer I’m totally here to be your guide… though if I'm being honest, and this is like the least groundbreaking advice ever, the most stunning photos happen when you are just being you. These of course usually need very little help to achieve, just a simple prompt (pretend you're drinking the coffee, kiss your husband, and so on) and we're off to the races. Being in front of the camera can feel a little intimidating at first, but once we're in the swing of things, when you've loosened up and are just being yourself, the session comes to life. Nothing forced, just relaxed, just you!
How much does a maternity photoshoot on lake como cost?
The costs associated with your particular photo session will probably vary quite a bit from others shooting along the lake! It depends of course on many factors.
Are you paying extra for a location? Like a private boat for example? The Lake Como boat rental companies that I have personal with have cost anywhere from 300 EUR to 600 EUR, though they can certainly go higher.
Do you want hair and makeup? Rates here can start at about 200 EUR, depending on your makeup artist.
As for the photography cost itself, every photographer is different, but my personal rate begins at 450 EUR for the first hour of shooting + 250 EUR for each additional hour.

It seems obvious, but many couples skip this step and end up disappointed! A photographer’s reputation says a lot about what you can expect. Look for testimonials on both their website and Google Business page to assess their level of professionalism, their reliability, and the vibe the bring to the session in general.
Assess their communication:
Photoshoots in foreign countries require careful planning, so you need someone you can trust to be your eyes and ears, to recommend the best locations, times, and so on in a country you liekly haven't yet stepped foot in! To ensure a stress free shoot, make sure that your photographer is responsive, communicates clearly, and is considerate of your specific needs.
